Resumo
Catalysis is a key subject when about it comes to sustainability in chemistry. Additionally, the catalysts to be used and the processes to produce them must also be sustainable. Nowadays there are several methods that can be used to obtain these materials, however not all of them are environmentally friendly. \nIn the last two decades, the supercritical processes and preparation of micro and nano catalysts have grown, namely by using supercritical CO2. The remarkable properties of the supercritical fluids, which depend on their operational conditions, allows the tuneability of several characteristics of the final material, such as morphology, size and size distribution or surface area. This chapter offers an overview on recent advances in catalyst’s production using supercritical techniques, trends and necessities for the use supercritical fluid technology are also discussed.
