Resumo
This work addresses the depositional palaeoenvironment and the sequence stratigraphy of\\nan Upper Jurassic succession outcropping at Gralha Beach, located North of São Martinho do Porto\\nbay. The most abundant lithofacies are claystones and siltstones, followed by sandstones, palaeosols,\\nwackestones, and marls. Calcimetry, X-Ray diffraction, fossil content and facies analyses suggest that\\nthe whole interval was deposited in a low-energy, shallow marine environment. Carbonate and\\nmarine fossils are abundant at the lower portion, whereas oxidized claystone/siltstone and\\npalaeosols prevail towards the top. The integration of all available data allowed the identification of\\nmultiple different order sequences, indicating an upward overall regressive pattern.
