Resumo
Energy efficiency is a cost-effective way to reduce energy consumption through existing and improved technologies and can play a significant role in reducing the threat of global climate change. By promoting the consumption of less energy, there will be less emission of greenhouse gases as the result of the burning of fossil fuels. Therefore, the development of energy saving practices and the use of energy from renewable sources constitute important measures. Forestry and agro-industrial waste can be an advantageous resource for energetic utilization through thermal energy processes. Over 220 million tons of food waste are produced in Europe every year, making the implementation of methods for its reuse an environmentally friendly and economically viable solution. \\nDue to their high volumetric heat capacity, low vapor pressure and good thermal conductivity, ionic liquids have been studied as possible heat transfer fluids. Their combination with nanomaterials (IoNanofluids) have create great expectation considering the enhancement of their thermal properties.\\nIn this work a new type of heat transfer fluids – IoBiofluids4 (lignocellulosic biomass particles suspended in an ionic liquid) are presented. The thermal properties of these fluids, namely heat capacity and thermal conductivity, were studied. IoBiofluids might present an eco-alternative to IoNanofluids.\\n
