Thermal history of baixo alentejo flysch group, south portuguese zone (História térmica do Grupo do Flysch do Baixo Alentejo, Zona Sul Portuguesa)

Summary
A systematic study was carried out in the Baixo Alentejo Flysch group in order to reconstruct its thermal history using two complementary methodologies: vitrinite reflectance and apatite fission track dating of apatites contained in greywackes forming the Mértola, Mira and Brejeira formations. Vitrinite reflectance results indicate values of maximum paleo-temperatures between 236 and 326 ºC. The apatites gave fission track ages between 158 and 60 Ma. When possible, the results were integrated and modelled in order to reconstruct the thermal history of the studied samples
